“Came to Right the Wrong Never RIP” by A.R. Felcita is a super exciting novel in the blending genre of supernatural and paranormal. The stretch of the storyline traverses between centuries from 19th century of British Era to modern day. Paul Benedict is the lead character with the background in the army. The book posses many a significant yet controversial questions: does a soul live across many centuries? Are souls immortal unlike human bodies? Do they live century after century to fulfill their worldly revenges and desires? Can they harm humans?
Well, Paul is the inheritor of his ancestors’ property in the village Thisyan. Upon his attorney’s request he visits the village but finds there everything clumsy and life-threatening. The author has described his ancestral haunted home in such a way that even a known accomplice will fear entering it. The house was closed since many years…many of its dwellers died eventually including Paul’s father.
The house is overshadowed and surrounded by dense foliage of trees and plants, making it inaccessible for anyone. Paul is shocked to see the abysmal state of the house. Nevertheless, he strives to investigate the matter with his confidante Antony.
As Paul reads letters from his many a time great grandfather, he is shocked to find out that that Alphonso and her five children were murdered in the house by her father only. Why? She is the crux of the novel…her wandering soul. Is her soul still lingering to seek revenge from the lineage of her family? The novel has elements of suspense and thrill with each layer peeling off as and when some new turn and characters are introduced.
A couple of murders, including of the head priest of the church, stirs controversy all around. Is Paul behind it? Will he be put behind the prison as evidence can trap him? The ambience of the novel is more than just a ghost story, its paranormal activities with an eerie chilling ramifications cold the heart of villagers and people nearby. Well, if the cause of the ghost and its savage damage is known…how will Paul and his teammates overcome everything…can they free the village from curse of Alphonso’s devilish soul?
Surely, there is a mysterious soul of a lady in the haunted house and she is seeking absolute revenge. Can Paul, the inheritor and the investigating figure, uncover her completely?
Behind the garb of ghost and horror story, it can also be reckoned as a chilling supernatural mystery. Felcita has unerring ear for dialogues and skillfully drawn characters, she recreates the plotline by going back in the time with her descriptions of parasols, mansions with manicured lawns, and hubbub in the local streets. Like a traditional paranormal genre, this novel doesn’t let up on the mystery and suspense until the last page.
