As we all know
that Ruskin Bond epitomizes for children’s books in India, and we have been
reading his stories since early school days. Well, did you ever try reading
poems and verses written by him? Probably no, because publishing houses take no
interest in publishing poem books. So, we have decided to highlight some of the
best poems ever written by this legendary writer, whose stories unflinchingly
pass on from one generation to another without losing sheen of brilliance and
charm.
This
particular poem is about darkness. Well, the message is not to be wary of
darkness, rather embrace it.
Don’t be
afraid of the dark, little one,
The earth
must rest when the day is done.
The sun may
be harsh, but moonlight – never!
Be friends
with the Night, there is nothing to fear,
Just let your
thoughts travel to friends far and near.
By day, it
does seem that our troubles won’t cease,
But at night,
late at night, the world is at peace.
